Foundry Systems

Foundry Systems Engineering

General Kinematics has been active in the EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) space for decades. GK’s extensive engineering experience and industry knowledge provide companies with complete turnkey foundry systems that maximize profitability while providing a safe and low-maintenance work environment. We have the expertise and resources to develop a design+build process for a foundry system tailored to deliver on your company’s growing or changing business plan.

With more than 40,000 installations across 35 countries, we’ve worked on diverse foundry projects, big and small, greenfield and brownfield. We use the industry’s most trusted and durable equipment to ensure that you achieve maximum uptime and returns on your investment.

Our Process

From a concept to the successful startup and commissioning of your plant upgrade or greenfield plant, GK Systems is your one-stop provider.  We offer services in three phases:

Phase 1: Preliminary Engineering/Feasibility Studies

  • Develop system concepts that will achieve your plant’s upgrade goals
  • Product budgets, project schedules, and other necessary information to assess the capital and time requirements to implement your plant upgrade.

Phase 2: Detailed Engineering

  • Building on Phase 1, we further develop foundry system and equipment designs and specifications to reach a “ready-to-build” state.
  • This phase is often combined with Phase 3.

Phase 3: Implementation, Construction, and Installation

  • Supply integration equipment needed to connect your preferred main process equipment into a fully integrated working foundry with no gaps.
  • Manage all aspects of equipment engineering and procurement, working directly with your preferred main process equipment OEMs to ensure seamless integration of all equipment and subsystems.
  • “Boots on the ground” on-site construction management, field engineering, startup, and commissioning services from site preparation through commencement of operation.

This phased approach ensures that the upgrade/expansion is developed in a way that meets your company’s goals and delivers the results you expect.
